Nguon's Notebook: No. 3
Moments after landing back in California Saturday evening, numerous players received word via text message that Florida had dropped its contest to Auburn on a last-second field goal. In a day of shocking upsets, hearing that the Gators had lost wasn't exactly the surprising part. What was amazing though - at least in the context of Cal's historical perspective - was that the outcome of a national power on the other side of the country had a direct affect on the Bears. Yes folks, times are certainly changing around these parts.
Cal head coach Jeff Tedford has certainly taken his program to new heights year in and year out since he's assumed the helm in 2002. But after knocking off Oregon 31-24 in Autzen Stadium Saturday afternoon in front of a national audience in what many pundits deemed to be Tedford's best road win at Cal, there's no denying it anymore.
