Notebook: Richt talks UGA-UT
Even if Kregg Lumpkin's broken thumb has healed sufficiently enough to grip the football, Georgia coach Mark Richt Tuesday didn't guarantee how much time, if any, he would see in the backfield against Tennessee.
Credit the recent performances of Knowshon Moreno and Thomas Brown for that.
Lumpkin had the "club" removed from his hand Monday and was fitted with a custom splint.
"I'm not sure he's going to be in the rotation, but when that time comes, there's no doubt he'll get in there one way or the other," Richt said. "All it's going to take is for him to break a big run, and people will say 'That's a good idea, coach.' But no, Lump's a very bruising runner and a lot of times, that's just what we need at a given moment."
