GamecockCentral.com One true freshman expected to make an impact on the South Carolina men's basketball team this season is Sam Muldrow. The 6-foot-9 forward played at Wilson High in Florence and was a member of the U.S. National Team. GamecockCentral's Wayne Turner recently spoke with Muldrow to get his take on several subjects.
GamecockCentral: Why USC?
Sam Muldrow: It's a great school. I like the academic program, and I wanted to put my city on the map.
GC: Did the fact that Carlos Powell played at USC have a big impact on your decision?
SM: Not really. I mean, he told me it was a great school and all, but I made my own decision to come here.
GC: This past year, you played on the U.S. National Team in Germany. What was that experience like?
SM: It was a great experience. I played against a lot of players from other countries and it helped me learn a lot.
