Smith released from the hospital
BOULDER, Colo. - Below are notes and quotes from the Buffaloes' practice session on Wednesday afternoon.
*** After spending four nights in Boulder Community Hospital, Josh Smith was released on Wednesday. The freshman wide receiver bruised his kidney during last Saturday's scrimmage. "He is in good spirits, he is actually in orientation right now," said head coach Dan Hawkins. "[We] don't know exactly [when he will be ready to play] but we're saying possible around Florida State." That would mean Smith would miss the first two games of the season against Colorado State and Arizona State.
*** The Buffaloes headed down to Denver for their morning walkthrough. Coach Hawkins wanted the team to run through a workout in Invesco Field, the site of their season opener against Colorado State. "It was good," Coach Hawkins said. "[It was] pretty quick but it was good for them to look around and see some things. They had cones down in the middle of the field so we did some work on the sides."
