Blue Devils show progress in scrimmage
Through the first several weeks of August, the offense has had an on again, off again type of camp. In Tuesday's scrimmage, they were a little of both, yet again. Despite this seesaw brand of football the offense has been playing, the group appeared to put together a more positive performance in the latest scrimmage.
Many may look at the three interceptions and multiple sacks and wonder how the day's performance equates to an encouraging workout. The fact of the matter is the unit may have struggled in the consistency department, but they accomplished something they had not been able to do very often throughout camp - grab yards by the bunches.
The first example of this came when Thaddeus Lewis connected on a post route with senior wide receiver Jomar Wright for a 57-yard score. On a much shorter route, Lewis connected with Wright for a nine yard score.
