McCoy dominates in second practice
McCoy looks the part of an All-American
If the defense got the better of the offense on the first day of workouts for the Texas Longhorns this week, sophomore quarterback Colt McCoy made sure that the situation didn't repeat itself on Tuesday.
The Big 12's pre-season Offensive Player of the Year picked apart the Longhorns secondary the entire night, completing an array of passes all over the field to a cast of different receivers.
Among his best sequence of plays occurred during 11-on-11 teams drills when he threaded a beautiful pass along the sidelines to Jermichael Finley and then followed it with a series of long touchdown throws. Even when the defense had near-perfect coverage, McCoy put the ball into the narrowest of windows.
"Cole McCoy is Colt McCoy. You guys see the same thing that I see," senior cornerback Brandon Foster said after Tuesday's workout. "It's a great opportunity to go up against the best of the best. You've for Colt throwing the ball and (Limas) Sweed catching. You're not going to get too much better than that."
