On to this week's inquiries:
RockM asks: Will our coaching staff consider playing Gilbert Moye two ways: safety and wide receiver? Without even a few touches a game on offense, I fear Moye's explosive running ability will be wasted.
Well, they've never done it before. That's not saying it won't happen, but I'd be awfully surprised. It is tough enough to pick up one position at this level, much less two. You've got to be a very, very special player to do that. I'm not saying Gilbert Moye isn't, but I'd be surprised to see him play both ways consistently--especially in the fast-paced Tiger offense.
I do agree that he's a kid you'd love to see with the ball in his hands. However, over the last few years, Missouri has had quite a few game-changing players on offense. And they've had very, very few on defense. That has gotten them to eight wins, but to get to the next level, you've got to have some serious difference makers on defense. I think Moye offers that to you as a free safety and that's the position I'd put him at if it were me making the decision (for the record, Gary Pinkel hasn't asked).
It would be fun to see a handful of plays put in for Moye, but I'm not convinced he gives you any more on offense than guys like Jared Perry, Jeremy Maclin or Danario Alexander. The depth at receiver is there. It is not nearly so good at any spot on defense.
