Exclusive Interview: Washington says a lot
The first Georgia commitment for the class of 2008 was Waynesboro (Ga.) - Burke County defensive end Cornelius Washington. Washington committed to the Dawgs on the spot in July of 2006 when they offered him after their camp. Some forget about guys that commit that early, so we sat down with him recently to get caught up.
Washington is a 6-foot-4, 230-pound explosive football player off the edge. He used his quickness and athleticism to dominate the UGA camp in July of 2006 before he even began his junior year. He showed UGA all they needed to see because they offered him that day and Washington committed.
Shortly after that just weeks before his junior year began he broke two bones in his forearm and missed all but the last few games. He has worked hard this off season to regain his strength and to become an even better player as a senior.
