Stansbury adds home-town star
The up-and-down world of Mississippi State basketball has been filled by both ends of the spectrum this week. Yesterday it was announced that three players would be leaving, but in his ever hard-working ways, coach Rick Stansbury was not resting on his laurels and added a replacement today. This one, however, is a little closer to home for him; well, a lot closer. The two even attended the same high school!
"He had verbally committed to William and Mary, then Mississippi State came in and Coach Stansbury is from Riley's home county, from Brandenburg, and went to Meade County high school," commented Meade County head basketball coach Jerry Garris on his star player Riley Benock. "He's still got family here and he came to watch him play.
