Palmetto OL visits UK for spring practice
Kentucky's need for improved depth on the offensive line has been underscored this spring by two walk-ons and a converted tight end taking the majority of the reps with the first-team offense.
The center position is particularly thin at the moment with senior Eric Scott nursing an elbow injury and sophomore Jorge Gonzalez rehabbing from off-season surgery. That has left redshirt freshman Marcus Davis taking almost every snap and gives you a fairly strong indication that the position will be a key focus of the Wildcats' 2008 recruiting efforts.
Enter T.J. Johnson.
The Aynor, S.C., prospect is sporting an early scholarship offer from the Cats and took an opportunity to visit Lexington last weekend for an unofficial visit.
In addition to Kentucky, Johnson has claimed scholarship offers from Vanderbilt, Maryland, Marshall, N.C. State, Duke, East Carolina and Troy. He's also receiving interest from North Carolina, South Carolina, Clemson, Georgia and Auburn.
