Utes kick into high gear
For the first time this spring, practice felt like real football as the Utes donned the pads and lined up for the first full contact practice of the season. The tackling wasn't sharp, but emotions ran high, and it was apparent that both the coaches and the team meant business this afternoon's session.
Shaking off the Rust
Brian Johnson continued to show flashes of promise on Thursday, as he regularly connected with his deep receiving corp.
Johnson had the opportunity to air it out this afternoon and connected on two particularly nice deep balls to Freddie Brown and Brian Hernandez.
Running to Daylight
Those who are concerned about the stability of Utah's running attack this season may breathe a little easier after the performance of senior Darryl Poston this afternoon. Poston put on a performance in seven on seven drills, cutting through the defense on several impressive runs.
If he can sustain these types of performances through the fall, Utah has the potential to have a nice one-two punch at the running back slot this season.
