Tigers finish up first session of spring
The Tigers held their fourth and final practice before going their separate ways for spring break this weekend. PowerMizzou.com has the happenings from the workout:
*The team wore black practice pants. What, no gold even for practice now? I kid.
*No new injuries to report. Brock Christopher did sit out with a walking cast on his right ankle that he injured in the last practice. Gary Pinkel said it was a severe sprain and he hopes Christopher will be back after the break. Pinkel said if there was a game this week, Christopher would have not played.
*With Christopher out, Sean Weatherspoon moved back to middle linebacker and Steve Redmond worked as a starter on the outside.
*Dominic Grooms threw some nice passes. He had a perfect one dropped over double coverage for Jon Gissinger, but Gissinger dropped it. Not bothered, Grooms came back on the very next snap and hit Lucas Null in the corner of the end zone. If I were a betting man, I wouldn't bet against the redshirt freshman from Tampa putting some serious heat on Patton for the backup job.
*Shawn Scott continues to draw looks. He took a sweep left about 45 yards for a touchdown. Granted, it came against the third-string defense, but Scott looks a heck of a lot faster than your average walk-on.
