Spring ball rolls on
BOULDER, Colo. - After further review of Saturday's scrimmage, Dan Hawkins remained upbeat about the improvement his team has made since last year.
"I always find that in this profession you are on a continuum," Hawkins expressed. "I have been undefeated and felt the same way as I did when we were 2-10.
"But we're definitely getting a lot better. We're doing a lot of little things better. It's interesting because some of the kids came in and watched the video [of the scrimmage] afterwards and they were text messaging me and they were going, 'Coach, man we are so much better than we were last year. I'm psyched'. That's the beauty of it all really, just being able to master those little things."
They were able to get through the first three practices of spring ball without any injures, but Saturday's scrum did leave the Buffaloes a little battered.
Redshirt freshman wide receiver Scotty McKnight was on crutches and wearing a boot on Monday, after injuring his right ankle. According to Hawkins, it's doubtful that he will return this spring.
Drew Hudgins, Jarrell Yates, Alvin Barnett, Ryan Walters and Daniel Sanders were also held out of practice on Monday.
