Spring Preview: Brinkley reunion at linebacker?
The two most watched linebackers during Steve Spurrier's third spring as head coach could be players who didn't even play the position in 2006.
The return of Dustin Lindsey to active duty following a one-season absence and the probable move of Casper Brinkley from defensive end should provide most of the buzz, and most of the intrigue, at linebacker when spring practice starts March 20.
The Garnet and Black game is scheduled for April 14 at 2 p.m. at Williams-Brice Stadium.
Lindsey was the starting middle linebacker for most of the second half of the 2005 season. He finished third on the team with 58 tackles, 29 in a three-game stretch (Vanderbilt, at Tennessee, at Arkansas) when he wrested the starting position away from Ricardo Hurley.
