Another late-game meltdown
LSU has watched what occurred at the Tad Smith Coliseum in Oxford far too many times this season.
With less than five minutes remaining in the game, the Tigers had grabbed a five-point advantage against Southeastern Conference Western Division-leading Ole Miss.
But, LSU would total just three points on its final six possessions. The Tigers' last trip ended in an inexcusable turnover which resulted in a game-winning field goal by Clarence Sanders with less than one second left.
LSU didn't get a shot off and return to its locker room with a 71-70 defeat - its fourth setback in the past 2½ weeks by fewer than four points.
But, this loss was far more difficult to endure because of the final seconds.
