Brownsboro offensive lineman Lonnie Edwards made Mike Leach a happy man on Thursday night when he called to tell him what Leach had been hoping for since last May.

Edwards had been committed to Baylor since mid-May but had continued his dialogue with Texas Tech even taking an official visit in late November.

The Red Raiders almost received a crushing blow to their hopes of landing Edwards when Tech's offensive line coach Bill Bedenbaugh opted to leave for Arizona.
