Top junior already on UT's wish list?
When Klein Oak entered the Texas state playoffs in November with a 5-5 record, there weren't many followers of the high school football scene within the city of Houston that gave the Panthers much of a chance for success.
Of course, what the doubters learned over the course of the next month is that any team that has DeSean Hales on the roster has a chance to do great things. In what amounted to a breakout party for the 5-10, 165-pound Hales led his team to a series of playoff wins over teams that were considered to be heavy favorites. In the process Hales ensured that he'll rank among the state's top overall prospects in the 2007-08 recruiting class.
