Seniors receive sendoff Thursday
It was a bittersweet day for the Auburn seniors Thursday. The Tigers wrapped up on-campus bowl preparations for Nebraska and are now headed home for Christmas. However, it was also the last time to practice on the Plains for the senior group.
The seniors have compiled a 40-10 record over the last four years, which is more wins than any previous group in Auburn history. In that span, the seniors have a 13-0 season, an SEC championship, an SEC western division title, a division co-championship, and arguably just as important, zero losses to Alabama.
"It was the last day for our seniors out here. We are proud of them for what they've done," said AU head coach Tommy Tuberville.
For senior WR Courtney Taylor, Auburn's second all-time leading receiver, it's been a long road since signing with the Tigers in 2002.
"You've been here so long, it's like you've grown up here," said Taylor. "But there's part of you that's ready to move on."
