Kelly Quinlan
UGASports.com One redshirt freshman who may have a chance at starting next season for the Bulldogs is linebacker Darryl Gamble from Bainbridge, Georgia. Due to the LCL injury to sophomore Marcus Washington, Gamble will head into spring camp as the number one middle linebacker. UGASports caught up with Gamble to ask him about that and he first year in Athens.
UGASports: What will next season be like for you?
Gamble: "I will have good opportunity to play a lot especially on all special teams. The rest depends on how I do in spring. I have all the plays down so I will know what to do in the spring."
UGASports: Do you expect to have a chance to start at middle linebacker next especially with Marcus recovering from his injury?
Gamble: "Yes sir. I do."
UGASports: What has it been like having three season linebackers ahead of you to mentor you?
Gamble: "It is great because they can explain things the way they learned it. They give me ways to make things easier and I can watch them do it and learn from watching them."
