Going out a champion
For starting tackle Kyle Williams and the other seniors on this Trojan squad, Saturday will mark the last time they run out of the Coliseum tunnel. Win or lose against the Irish, these veterans can enter life after college with pride. No other class has ever spent their entire playing careers as Pac-10 champions.
Williams is actually a fifth year senior, one year at USC for every conference championship he has won. Amazingly there isn't a player on the team that knows what it feels like to be anything but top dog in the Pac-10.
"It is kind of starting to be a habit I guess," Williams said about the accomplishment. "It's been cool, kind of like what we expected, that is what we always try to shoot for, making it to the Rose Bowl."
This stretch run for the Trojans has been extremely difficult despite the lopsided scores. It might serve as an added benefit with some of the younger guys not being able to focus on a huge rival like Notre Dame.
