Kicking back with Adi
North Crowley High School in Texas was a tough opponent in 2005, but the turnover from last year made it difficult in 2006. Adi Kunalic and his team ended up last season with only one loss out of 10 games in their district, but they lost their first playoff game. This year was not as successful for them and it prevented him from having the chance to only attempt four field goals for the year.
The two made were from 37 and 42 yards. Of the two misses, one got blocked and one was a bad hold. As a junior, he made seven of his nine field goal attempts, including two long ones from 57 and 53 yards. Adi Kunalic passed up scholarship offers from Washington State, Utah and Connecticut to attend Nebraska. He was recruited to do field goals and kickoffs for Nebraska, but he could see some action at punting, too. This past year, he feels that his punts averaged "somewhere between 41 and 43 yards." He feels his hang time on punts are in the 4.4 to 4.8 seconds, but he is not exactly certain.
