Cats using past pain as motivation
As much as it pains them to admit it, the scene on the turf at Snyder Family Stadium after last Saturday's 45-42 win over No. 4 Texas wasn't altogether new to many of Kansas State's players. The Wildcats witnessed a similar celebration two years ago - at their expense - as Kansas fans stormed the field in Lawrence after the Jayhawks snapped an 11-game losing streak to their in-state rivals.
Senior defensive tackle Quintin Echols drew comparisons between the two events when asked what stuck out in his mind about the 31-28 loss at KU on Oct. 9, 2004.
"The only thing I really remember was walking off their fields when their fans rushed the field," he said. "It was probably a lot like Texas felt last week."
