At one point, Tatum High School product Lennon Creer may have been one of the top prospects on the Cowboys' recruiting board. As is the case sometimes in recruiting, a lack of communication can result in a parting of ways between the school and the prospect, although that is not necessarily the case in this instance.

Regarding Oklahoma State, Creer noted that he is still hearing from them but not as frequently.

He has visited Tennessee and Oklahoma and is also being recruited by Georgia and Florida.
