Georgia Bulldogs (5-2, 2-2) ranked 24th in the nation will try to snap a two-game home losing streak against a struggling Mississippi State (2-5, 0-3) team. If the Bulldogs win Saturday, they will set a new record for the longest winning streak in the series with 12 straight victories.
Georgia is 15-5 against Mississippi State all-time and Georgia is 8-2 in Athens against Mississippi State.
Georgia has not played Mississippi State in Athens since 1997 when Georgia won 47-0 behind quarterback Mike Bobo's threw touchdown passes and tailback
Robert Edwards 102 yards rushing and two touchdowns.
Georgia won 23-10 in Starkville, MS last year.
Kickoff is set for 1:00 p.m. in Sanford Stadium.
Depth Chart/Injury notes
Redshirt sophomore Ramarcus Brown will not play against Mississippi State. Either redshirt freshman Bryan Evans or freshmen Asher Allen or Prince Miller will start in his place.
Senior center Nick Jones will try to start against Mississippi State despite a sprained MCL. Redshirt Ian Smith will backup Jones up and start if necessary.
Sophomore tight end Tripp Chandler will start in place injured senior tight end Martrez Milner. Milner is suffering from turf toe, but is expected to return next week for Florida.
Senior tackle Michael Turner will start at tight guard in place of junior guard Chester Adams. Adams has a badly sprained ankle and will likely miss at least two games.
Redshirt freshman kicker Ben Wilson is questionable for the Mississippi State game due to a knee injury. Senior punter Gordon Ely-Kelso will backup junior kicker Andy Bailey if Wilson cannot play.
Team Captains
The entire senior class will be team captains for the Mississippi State game. The Honorary captain is former Kevin "Catfish" Jackson an offensive guard at Georgia from 1980-82.
