AggieYell.com Friday night signaled the start of basketball season across the nation with Midnight Madness events staged in gyms across the country.
Texas A&M, though, staged their Maroon Madness at Kyle Field for the second-straight season following Midnight Yell Practice. With approximately 28,000 in attendance for the preseason top-15 Aggies (depending on what poll you're looking at), another national record was broken for Midnight Madness attendance.
Looking on were a number of recruits from the classes of 2008 and 2009, and all four of A&M's 2007 commits. Three of those recruits were on their official visits including Houston Christian Life Center five-star power forward/center DeAndre Jordan.
The 7-foot, 240-pound Rivals.com five-star prospect, ranked No. 8 in the nation, chose A&M over scholarship offers from Florida, Florida State, LSU, Texas and Indiana.
