A hot commodity
Just about anyone who has seen Ocala Trinity Catholic quarterback John Brantley play regards the five-star prospect to be one of the nation's top players regardless of position. Brantley has been slicing up opponents on the field ever since his sophomore season, and his work this summer in several different passing camps only solidified the notion that Brantley is one of the best in America.
Just about everyone considered it a foregone conclusion that the 6-foot-3, 190-pound blue-chip would be scheduled to participate in several different all star games, and on Monday he received an early invitation to play in the Army All American game in San Antonio.
On the recruiting front, Brantley remains a solid Texas commitment despite constant pressure from a handful of other programs. But speculation continues to run rampant. The most persistent rumor has both Florida and Oklahoma making a strong push to sway his commitment, but the soft-spoken Brantley said things are being blown out of proportion.
