Secondary exceeding expectations

With the early departures of sophomore All-American safety Ko Simpson and junior cornerback Johnathan Joseph to the NFL, the USC secondary was considered to be one of the major question marks heading into the 2006 season. However, through the first four games, the secondary has exceeded expectations and is quietly performing at a high level, particularly given the number of freshmen and sophomores seeing significant playing time.
