The new generation of Marshall football has been defined by a star-studded passing game that rivaled virtually any program in the nation. Huntington has been home to all-world wide receiver Randy Moss and standout quarterbacks Chad Pennington and Byron Leftwich, but in recent years Marshall's offense has evolved into a ground-based attack. The Thundering Herd won at Kansas State in 2003 thanks to a dominant performance on the ground, and the Herd will try and make it two in a row in Manhattan with a similar gameplan Saturday.

For the Wildcats (2-0), who won 21-19 at Marshall last season, to earn back-to-back wins over their visitors from West Virginia they must stop a dangerous Marshall (1-1) backfield duo comprised of tailback Ahmad Bradshaw and quarterback Bernard Morris.

Bradshaw and Morris each topped the 150-yard mark last week in a 54-31 win over Division I-AA member Hofstra, a performance that certainly drew the attention of Wildcat coach Ron Prince.

"It will be a challenge. It is a very unique backfield that we are going to face. They are unique in the standpoint that I know a lot about Ahmad Bradshaw," Prince said.
