Powered Up: Tight ends must be better
Over the last three weeks, we've used this space to tell you what Missouri needs to get out of its quarterback, running backs and wide receivers. Now, we get to the easiest position on the field to assess. All Missouri needs out of its tight ends is for them to show up.
Well, maybe it's a little more complex than that, but not a lot. It's fairly common knowledge how good the Tiger tight ends are.
Martin Rucker and Chase Coffman were ranked as the top two tight ends in the Big 12 in a recent poll of Rivals.com publishers.
In other words, most think Missouri's second-best tight end is better than anyone else's best in the league. And it's a hard sell to convince anyone they're not right.
Okay, we know they were great last year. But you know what Missouri needs this year? It needs them to be better.
