Fozzy Whittaker covers for the first time
Foswhitt Whittaker has stepped into big shoes at Pearland High following former Oiler running backs Anthony Evans (University of Houston) and Brandon Roberson (Northwestern).
Whittaker has more than carried on the torch for the Houston-area school, rushing for 1,276 yards (nine touchdowns) as a sophomore and 1,608 yards (18 touchdowns) last season. While Whittaker will be looking to break the 2,000-yard barrier as a senior, his future position in college is yet to be determined.
Whittaker recently tripped to Austin for a camp the first weekend in June and split time between running back and corner back.
Whittaker, who chose the Longhorns over Oklahoma State, will now turn his attention to summer workouts with his teammates in the Pearland weight room and competing in summer track with the Wings.
