Spring football review: Offense
Spring practice is in the books and only a long summer remains before Duke kicks off the 2006 football season on September 3rd against Richmond.
Devils Illustrated was on hand at nearly every workout and Saturday's spring scrimmage. Here's our rundown of the offense as the Blue Devils exit spring drills.
A lively quarterback battle highlighted most of spring drills, but several players at multiple positions stepped up.
Eron Riley paced the receiving corps and Requan Boyette stood out at tailback with Justin Boyle sidelined recovering from offseason shoulder surgery.
However, the increased firepower at the skill positions could go for naught if the offensive line can't find a way to produce in the trenches.
The offensive line only returns one starter, and some of the answers up front in 2006 could still be yet to arrive on campus. Incoming freshmen Marcus Lind and Jarrod Holt could each be big factors this fall.
