Linebacker Stokes picks up more SEC offers
One of the top linebackers in the state of Tennessee for the 2007 class is Memphis University School's John Stokes. As a junior last season, Stokes racked up 62 tackles, with six for loss, two sacks, and three fumble recoveries and was an honorable mention on the Super 7 all-state team for the Division 2 state championship Owls program.
The 6-foot-5, 225-pound middle linebacker has already been firmly on many schools wish lists, picking up offers from Vanderbilt and Stanford early on. Now Stokes has picked up three additional offers, including two from the SEC.
"I have some new offers actually," says Stokes. "I've now been offered by Alabama, Memphis, and Arkansas."
"Alabama offered right before I my trip to their spring game," says Stokes. "The went real good. I went down there with my coach, Coach Alston, and my teammates Tyler Horn and Drew Alston. There's a lot of football tradition there and they had about half of their stadium full."
