2015 Receiver Jarvis Wilson has 'Them Blankets' Rolling Again in Tupelo
The class of 2015 is one that is deep and talented in the state of Mississippi and the MSU coaches have not been quiet on the junior front. One of those players that is rising up the Bulldog radar is right up the road in Tupelo where the Golden Wave has a talented play maker at wide receiver in Jarvis Wilson.
Wilson is leading the charge for the resurging Wave that has started out the season 7-0 and brought Tupelo back to prominence on the gridiron for the first time in years.
"We're 7-0 right now and we have our biggest game of the year against South Panola this Friday. We're ready," Wilson said of the challenge. "The coaching this year has really made a difference but most importantly, everybody is working really hard and has the same goal. That's the secret to the success."
Wilson has seen his team climb to the top 10 in the state rankings and start to challenge the rest of the powerful 6A. He and his teammates are working for a State Championship, but he also has a teammate working in other ways off the field. MSU long snapper commit Joel Baldwin has put on the recruiting hat and is pushing Baldwin to maroon.
"He is after me every day," Wilson said with a laugh. "Every single day he's telling me to be a Bulldog. He's a good guy."
What Wilson is inclined to admit is that the recruitment by Baldwin might be working a bit but the coaches at MSU are doing their part as well. The junior standout made a visit over to campus on Saturday and reported having a great time as he always does.
