Cedric Jiles Ready to Make Big Plays for Prepared Bulldog D
A year ago at this time, cornerback Cedric Jiles had just suffered a hand injury after immediately hitting the field for playing time as a true freshman. His dream of SEC football was going to be put on hold for another year, but he's bounced back nicely in year two and is becoming a major player in the Bulldog secondary. Now that he's back on the field, he sees a brand new defense.
"Last year we were pretty good but this year we're more aggressive. We game play much better this year. It takes experience and we all get better with each game. Aggression is just about even when you get knocked down you have to get back up and get ready for the next play."
Aggression has been a point of emphasis for a team that played far too soft for the avid college football fan and for most of the coaches' liking. Jiles sees lots of opportunities in the aggressive style and has backed it up with double-digit tackles in the first couple of game. While still learning on the fly, the talented freshman is trying to make his statement week by week.
