Nelson Adams Making a Big Splash as a Freshman
Redshirt and true freshmen have been the talk of the town when Bulldog fans converse over the defensive line play this season. Players like Chris Jones, A.J. Jefferson and Nelson Adams have made an immediate impact this season in their freshmen year. Adams is coming off of a redshirt year after a solid career at Brandon High School. This year, Adams looks completely transformed and is competing at the highest level in college football and in the first four games he's compiled three tackles and 0.5 tackles for loss. More importantly, he's clogged up the holes in the interior line.
"I just try to come in every day and work hard in practice and take advantage of the reps I get doing what I can while I'm in there." He attributes the success of the line as a whole to communication within the group and the overall trust they have in each other. "We just talk to each other and tell each other to keep grinding and working. Our time is going to come. We just want to come together and play hard."
