Barring something totally unforeseen, 2013 figures to be a huge learning process for former Camden County standout Brice Ramsey.
So far, he appears to be off to a good start.
According to senior Aaron Murray, he's been pleased by what he's seen.
"He's very impressive," Murray said. "What he's doing right now as an offense is a lot more advanced than what the offense was my freshman year."
Ramsey is one of four quarterbacks battling for the No. 3 spot behind Murray and Hutson Mason, the others being Christian LeMay, Parker Welch and Faton Bauta.
Ramsey, it seems, appears to be holding his own.
In fact, Murray believes he's much further along than where he was at the current stage.
"I was struggling
everyone struggles at first
but I was struggling with the basic stuff my freshman year. We've evolved the last three or four years and (Ramsey) is doing things that I never learned to my sophomore or junior year," Murray said. "He's getting the opportunity as a freshman to learn it from myself, to learn it from Hutson, to see us on the field do those reps and in the film room."
Ramsey has so far been made unavailable for interviews to give his take of the situation. Murray, however, is happy to do all the talking for him.
"He's way ahead, really far ahead so as long as he keeps working hard, like I said, he's a good year or two ahead of me when it comes to the basic knowledge of the playbook," Murray said. "He's got all the skills in the world to go out there and throw the ball."
