Game at a Glance: Paint Presence
It has taken a little longer than some expected, but it appears the Missouri Tigers have found their strength. Missouri's starting frontcourt dominated LSU with double double-doubles from Alex Oriakhi and Laurence Bowers in an 89-76 win on Saturday afternoon.
"I think that's just who we are," Oriakhi said. "I feel me and Laurence are pretty good down low."
Bowers scored 23, his highest point total since late December against Illinois, and added ten rebounds. Oriakhi chipped in 18 on 9-of-11 shooting and grabbed ten boards of his own.
The Tigers scored 52 of their 89 in the paint, the second-highest total of the year. Only in a 60-point performance against South Carolina State was Missouri more dominant in the paint.
