Vanderbilt preview

Mississippi State has lost 11-straight game for the first time in over 30 years.

The Bulldogs hope to put an end to that skid this afternoon at home hosting Vanderbilt at 12:30 p.m.

MSU has split the last 10 meetings with the Commodores. Vandy leads the overall series 74-45 but the Bulldogs hold a 31-22 edge in Starkville. State has won eight of the last 10 games inside Humphrey Coliseum.

It took overtime to decide the winner of last year's meeting. The Bulldogs escaped with a 78-77 victory at the SEC Tournament behind 24 points from Dee Bost and 21 points by Arnett Moultrie.

Mississippi State is 7-18 overall on the year and 2-11 in Southeastern Conference play. The Bulldogs are coming off a 64-56 setback at Alabama on Wednesday. Junior guard Jalen Steele paced MSU with 15 points in his first game back from a three-game suspension.
