Bulldogs sweep four-game series

BulldogBlitz.com STARKVILLE, Miss., - Mississippi State capped off its four-game sweep of Portland with a pair of Sunday victories.
After winning game one 7-1, the Diamond Dogs shutout Portland 6-0 in the nightcap to wrap up the opening weekend series.
"It was a long day of baseball and I'm reallly pleased with the way our kids hung in there," said MSU skipper John Cohen. "I thought they played excellent defense."
MSU (4-0) collected nine hits in game two led by right-fielder Hunter Renfroe going 2-for-4 with an RBI double.
Left fielder Demarcus Henderson and shortstop Adam Frazier were both also 2-for-4 with a pair of singles with Henderson driving in a pair of runs.
After recording the final two outs in game one, Luis Pollorena came out of the bullpen again in the nightcap to pick up the win. Pollorena pitched 4 1/3 shutout innings allowing three hits while striking out six and walking two.
