Bulldogs hire Townsend as corners coach

BulldogBlitz.com Mississippi State has filled its last coaching vacancy with a familiar name.
Dan Mullen has hired former Alabama and NFL cornerback Deshea Townsend to coach the same position he starred at for 13 years professionally.
Townsend interviewed for the position earlier this week and was thought to be the leading candidate for the job. He confirmed his hiring via Twitter Friday morning with the message “It’s official!!! Go Dawgs!!!”
Townsend is a Mississippi native being born in Batesville and prepped at South Panola High School where as a quarterback he led the Tigers to a 15-0 record and the 1993 Class 5A State Championship.
