Texas-San Antonio preview
Mississippi State has won its two home games during the first month of the season.
The Bulldogs have only two more contests inside Humphrey Coliseum in the remainder of 2012. MSU will play one of those games tonight tipping off against Texas-San Antonio at 7 p.m.
Rick Ray's Bulldogs are 2-5 on the year with all five losses coming away from Starkville. State has won both games inside "The Hump" by an average of 19 points. They are hoping to avoid their first 2-6 start since 1950.
The Bulldogs have never met UTSA on the hardwood but hold a 14-6 record against teams from the Western Athletic Conference.
Mississippi State is coming off a 73-63 road loss to Providence on Saturday. The Bulldogs trailed by 26 with 11 minutes to play but rallied to cut the lead to five in the final minute. Senior center Wendell Lewis paced MSU with a double-double grabbing 11 rebounds and a career-high 16 points off the bench.
