Bulldogs land 2016 commitment
While most freshmen are adjusting to their first year of high school and dreaming about getting a driver's license, Robert Washington was planning much further in the future.
The standout running back in the class of 2016 gave his commitment to Mississippi State on Sunday becoming the earliest ever prospect to pledge to the Bulldogs.
"I was talking to the coaches and calling them every day," Washington said. "I was talking to Coach (Tim) Brewster and he really liked me as a player, running back and as a student so he offered me. I talked it over with my parents and we looked at Mississippi State. I was liking Mississippi State so I decided to commit."
The 5-foot-10, 175-pounder from Huntersville, N.C. is a member of Team USA and has already received plenty of recruiting attention despite just now finishing his freshman year and first year of varsity football.
