Fariyike makes his move
AUBURN -- Tunde Fariyike is a former two-star recruit, a late addition to the Tigers' 2010 signing class, who entered the season as perhaps the team's most anonymous scholarship player.
Now he's a starter.
The sophomore was promoted to the first-team offense Sunday after Reese Dismukes, Auburn's projected starter at center, drew an indefinite suspension for a weekend arrest. Coach Gene Chizik and his staff considered all options at center prior to practice Sunday, but ultimately decided Fariyike's experience and intellectual aptitude made the best candidate.
"It really hit me today," said Fariyike, who played high school ball in Thomaston, Ga. "This is it. This is my opportunity to really show what I can do. Everybody is looking at me. I've got to show up."
