Robinson ready to go
Mississippi State fans have been waiting for a chance to see Josh Robinson in action.
The Bulldog faithful have heard all about the freshman running back's exploits in high school and during his redshirt season in Starkville. They finally got that opportunity during the spring game as Robinson took his first handoff 34-yards for a touchdown.
But for Robinson it was just another day at the office.
"It really wasn't that big because I've played in the Super Dome twice so it wasn't that big of a deal," Robinson said.
Robinson is one of four MSU running backs expected to assume the backfield role left by Vick Ballard. Robinson, LaDarius Perkins, Nick Griffin and Derrick Milton are all expected to split time at tailback.
"Mississippi State is based on running (the football)," Robinson said. "We've got four great running backs so why not run the ball? As long as we play our roles right you are going to see an awesome team. We are going to shock the world this year."
Robinson and Milton both redshirted in 2011 and helped both digest the playbook. Robinson's first year of college also helped him grow spiritually as well.
