Breaking down the Bowie news
At his annual golf outing with the media, Oklahoma State head coach Mike Gundy announced that senior left tackle Michael Bowie would not be with the team this fall, due to violations of team rules.
Gundy also said he believes Bowie will transfer, though he was not sure of Bowie's destination.
It is certainly a blow to an offensive line that was set to feature four players with significant starting experience. Bowie was the low man, with five career starts. All of those came in 2011 after Bowie transferred in to OSU from junior college. He did not start the regular season finale against Oklahoma or in the Fiesta Bowl, but exited fall camp atop the depth chart at left tackle.
The news will likely lead to offensive line coach Joe Wickline experimenting with his starting lineup even more than usual in fall camp.
