Veterans key as defense readies for new scheme
There is expected to be a slight adjustment period this fall on the defensive side of the ball as West Virginia opens its first season in over a decade without running the 3-3-5 defensive scheme. But with a crop of key figures returning that transition should be minimalized.
One of the leaders of the unit figures to be a player that didn't play a down this past spring. Senior STAR linebacker Terence Garvin will make his return from injury this fall and brings with him a wealth of experience after starting 24 games during his career, including leading the team in tackles as a sophomore.
