Bulldogs fend off Auburn
STARKVILLE, Miss., - Mississippi State shot a season-best 60.4-percent from the field on Saturday.
And it's probably a good thing they did.
Auburn committed only three turnovers the entire game and pushed the 19th ranked Bulldogs to the limit but MSU was able to hold on 91-88 for their 12th straight home victory.
"Offense was not the problem," said MSU head coach Rick Stansbury. "We shot 60-percent for the game and scored 91 points. Defense was not locked in this game, but overall in this league you take the win and go on."
The Bulldogs made 12-of-19 behind the arc, their best 3-point shooting performance in SEC action in a decade.
State had five players score in double figures led by Arnett Moultrie 21 points on 7-of-13 shooting against his former head coach from UTEP Tony Barbee.
