Prescott shines in scrimmage
Mississippi State ended its first phase of bowl preparations under the lights of Davis Wade Stadium Friday night.
The Bulldogs let most of their second, third and even scout team units take most of the reps amassing 820 yards of offense and seven touchdowns running 150 plays.
"I thought it looked pretty good," said MSU head coach Dan Mullen. "There was a lot of sloppiness out there on the field at different times. That's disappointing especially from the older guys. They didn't get many reps but there was some sloppiness when they were in there. Overall I wanted to make sure everybody had fun and give a lot of guys an opportunity to go plan in the stadium."
With the shortage of quarterbacks, true freshman Dak Prescott received most of the reps behind center. Prescott completed 33-of-54 passing for 375 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. He also rushed nine times for 52 yards and another score.
