Junior Marcus Cooper of the Rutgers football team converted from wide receiver to cornerback during spring practice a year ago and became acclimated enough on the island to warrant a start in the Scarlet Knights' season finale against West Virginia.
Still, the 6-foot-2 Cooper experiences the same growing pains despite earning significant time with the starting defense during the spring.
