Pipkins talks Iowa offer
After missing Iowa's junior day in January due to bad weather, Ondre Pipkins wondered if the Hawkeye coaching staff would wait to see him in person some other time before offering a scholarship. This past week however, the 6-foot-3, 325-pound Pipkins received word that head coach Kirk Ferentz personally decided that it was time for Iowa to throw their hat in the ring.
"Coach Eric Johnson e-mailed me and said that he had great news, so I gave him a call," said Pipkins. "He said after the head coach sat down and watched my film, he definitely wanted to offer right away. He didn't wait any longer even though they haven't seen me in person yet. Coming from the head coach, I think that's a good sign."
Iowa is the seventh school to offer Pipkins, joining Missouri, Kansas, Kansas State, Michigan, Michigan State, and Tennessee.
